It’s almost surreal to think that by the time the next quarterly newsletter hits your inbox, we’ll be settled into our new building. Based on the current construction timeline, we anticipate being able to open our doors at the corner of Elm and Salmon Streets in late August or early September. As you know things can change, especially when it comes to a project of this scope, so please watch your email and visit our website regularly for updates. If you don’t happen to drive by the building to see our progress, our Facebook page is a great place to find the latest photos.
We ask that you pardon the appearance of our Bridge Street branch as we prepare for the move. Although much of the transition will be seamless to you and we’re keeping disruption to a minimum, we may need to close the Bridge Street lobby on a Saturday while we relocate. If that’s the case, we will notify you on our website, Facebook and via email. Again, please be on the lookout for notifications regarding the move.
We continue to follow CDC guidance and as such, are not requiring masks for members who are fully vaccinated. If you have not received the vaccine or it’s been less than two weeks since your second shot, we ask that you wear a mask when entering our lobbies. If you don’t have one, it can be provided. We ask that you practice social distancing and we continue to sanitize our lobbies. Walk-in service is currently limited to teller transactions and restrooms remain unavailable at this time.
While we’re relieved to open our doors and greet you face-to-face once again, I can’t stress enough the simplicity our electronic services offer. They’re free and user friendly, and you can manage your accounts from anywhere. Multi-tasking parents, busy college students, ambitious entrepreneurs and everyone in between all benefit from services like mobile banking, remote check deposit, bill payer, and person-to-person payments. And a video call to our contact center gives you the best of both worlds – see a friendly face from wherever you are.
Speaking not only for myself, but for all of the staff at Members First, we truly strive to be the best credit union we can be for all of our members and look forward to unveiling our beautiful new building in the coming months.
Until then, I hope you have an enjoyable summer.
Sincerely,
Bruce B. Leighton
