The Heart of BGCGM: Meet the Staff & Volunteers Who Make a Difference

Behind every smile, every game played, and every lesson learned at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester, there’s a dedicated team of staff and volunteers working tirelessly to create a safe and supportive environment for local youth. Their passion, commitment, and generosity make all the difference in the lives of the children and families they serve.

A Team Dedicated to Youth Development

The Clubs’ staff members aren’t just employees—they are mentors, role models, and champions for every child who walks through the doors. From ensuring engaging programming to creating a welcoming environment, they are the foundation of what makes the Clubs a trusted resource for families.

Leading the way is CEO Diane Fitzpatrick, who has been at the helm since 2014. Under her leadership, the Clubs have expanded their programs and services to better meet the needs of today’s youth. She is supported by a team of directors who oversee the Clubs’ daily operations, ensuring programs run smoothly and members receive the best possible experience.

At the heart of the Clubs’ daily operations are its program leaders, mentors, and youth development professionals. Whether they are running STEAM activities, coaching in the gym, or offering guidance in the Teen Center, these individuals are shaping the next generation through education, support, and encouragement.

The Power of Volunteers

While staff members are the backbone of the Clubs, volunteers provide an extra layer of support that brings programs to life. These generous individuals donate their time and talents in a variety of ways, from tutoring and mentoring to organizing special events and helping with holiday initiatives.

Dedicated Volunteers Who Go the Extra Mile

Karen – A longtime friend of the Clubs, Karen has a passion for cooking and baking. She regularly spends time in the kitchen with Club members, teaching them valuable culinary skills. But her generosity doesn’t stop there—each month, she bakes birthday treats for the kids and provides delicious desserts for Club events. Her warmth and kindness make celebrations at the Clubs extra special.

Jim – A multi-talented volunteer, Jim dedicates his time to the Clubs’ STEAM Lab, where he shares his artistic skills with members. But he’s also known for spreading holiday cheer—each year, he brings the magic of the season to life by stepping into the role of Santa during the Clubs’ Holiday Help event. His creativity and generosity bring joy to countless kids and families.
