Strong communities are built on stability: safe homes, supportive relationships, and access to resources that help people move forward. Through its refreshed Illuminating Change program, Members First Credit Union is proud to name Waypoint as its Q1 2026 Spotlight Partner, recognizing the organization’s long-standing commitment to supporting children, families, and individuals across New Hampshire.
For more than a century, Waypoint has worked alongside communities to help people navigate life’s challenges and build brighter, more secure futures. Their work reaches individuals at many stages of life, always grounded in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Supporting Families, Youth, and Stability
Waypoint’s programs focus on meeting people where they are and providing support that strengthens long-term stability. Their services span early childhood education, family support, and housing stability programs—each designed to address not just immediate needs, but the root causes that can make life feel uncertain.
A critical part of this work includes support for young adults experiencing housing instability, including services like the Young Adult Emergency Shelter, which provides safety, stability, and connection during moments of crisis.
For those who have turned to Waypoint during some of their most challenging times, the impact is deeply personal:
“Waypoint is an absolute lifeline. What makes them unique is their genuine care and responsiveness to individual needs. They truly listen and adapt, which is so critical when you're dealing with complex life situations. Unlike some other places, their understanding of addiction feels deeply informed and empathetic, making a significant difference in how effective their support is. They empower you to grow and contribute, and you can tell they're invested in your well-being and long-term success.”
Stories like this highlight what sets Waypoint apart: their ability to combine practical support with empathy, respect, and a belief in each person’s potential. By helping individuals regain stability and confidence, Waypoint strengthens not only individual lives, but entire communities.
A Partnership Rooted in Shared Values
Illuminating Change Spotlight Partners represent the highest level of community partnership at Members First. Through this designation, Members First provides financial support, marketing amplification, and long-term storytelling to help community organizations expand their reach and impact.
This partnership with Waypoint reflects a shared belief that housing stability is foundational to financial well-being and community strength. Members First is proud to invest in Waypoint’s mission not only through financial support, but also by helping elevate awareness of the critical work they do every day.
This partnership also reflects a meaningful personal connection for Members First. Waypoint is an organization that matters deeply to us, as Members First CEO Courtney Fifield serves on Waypoint’s Board of Directors, contributing his leadership and insight in support of the organization’s mission and the people it serves.
SleepOut: Raising Awareness Through Community

One of Waypoint’s most powerful initiatives is SleepOut, an annual community event that raises funds and awareness about youth homelessness in New Hampshire. Participants spend a night outside to better understand the realities faced by young people without stable housing—helping build empathy, understanding, and community connection.
While SleepOut will be a larger focus later this quarter, early awareness helps ensure the community is informed and engaged as the event approaches this spring.
Other Ways to Get Involved
For those who would like to support Waypoint’s work beyond SleepOut, there are several meaningful ways to get involved throughout the year:
- Donations
Financial contributions help sustain Waypoint’s programs for children, families, and young adults. Unrestricted gifts allow Waypoint to respond to the most immediate needs across their services.
- Employee Match
Many employers offer matching gift programs that can significantly increase the impact of your donation. Waypoint can help donors identify and apply eligible employer matches.
- Recurring Donations
Monthly donors provide steady, ongoing support. This consistent giving helps ensure stability for the individuals and families Waypoint serves throughout the year.
