ABC is a New Hampshire-based organization dedicated to bringing people together through the transformative power of public art. Founded in 2009 by artist and educator James Chase, ABC has been working to build connections, empower artists, and spark important conversations through creative expression.
A Mission Rooted in Community
At its core, ABC believes that art should be accessible to everyone—not confined to gallery walls, but woven into the fabric of the community. Through murals, youth programs, educational initiatives, and artist development, ABC fosters civic engagement, strengthens neighborhoods, and amplifies diverse voices. Their work is about more than beautifying spaces—it’s about making communities feel represented, valued, and inspired.

ABC is best known for its Community Canvas Mural Program, where artists collaborate with residents to create stunning murals that reflect the identity, history, and spirit of the community. ABC is an organization created by and for artists, ensuring they receive fair compensation and the resources needed to bring their visions to life. In addition to providing paid mural opportunities, ABC offers mentorship programs, artist residencies, and professional development workshops to help both emerging and established artists grow in their careers.
Young creatives also have a place at ABC. Through programs like ARTLAB and CoLAB, local teens gain hands-on experience in public art, working alongside professional artists to develop their skills while learning how art can be a powerful tool for change.
