For 175 years, Waypoint has been a trusted source of help, healing, and hope for individuals and families across New Hampshire. Their work spans every stage of life—from early childhood to senior care—offering compassionate, data-driven support where it’s needed most.
But Waypoint’s impact isn’t just measured in numbers—it’s measured in lives changed. Here’s a closer look at their services and the people they support.
Early Childhood & Family Support
Strong families build strong communities. Waypoint’s home visiting programs and family resource centers provide new parents with tools to nurture healthy child development and prevent abuse or neglect.
One parent, Krissy, credits Waypoint for helping both her and her son, Michael, who lives with Congenital Torticollis and Autism. With access to occupational therapy, speech therapy, and inclusive playgroups, Krissy found not only expert care for Michael, but also a supportive community of fellow parents and staff who helped her set realistic developmental goals.
Family Preservation & Strengthening
Waypoint works with families involved in the child welfare or juvenile justice system, as well as those at risk, to provide intensive, in-home support. Their goal is to help families heal, grow, and stay together by giving them the tools to become self-sufficient.
These programs are designed to restore healthy family dynamics and build a foundation for long-term stability.
Youth Homelessness & Housing
Waypoint operates a continuum of care for youth and young adults (ages 12–25) who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Services include street outreach, emergency shelter, rapid rehousing, and drop-in centers across the state.
Kyle, who entered foster care at age 8, struggled with stability for most of his life. After aging out of the system, he became homeless. Through Waypoint, Kyle found a case manager who helped him secure a job and an apartment—and for the first time, he’s living independently and building a new future.
Waypoint also operates New Hampshire’s only low-barrier emergency shelter for youth ages 18–24, offering safe, judgment-free space and support.
Health, Well-Being & Independence
Waypoint is committed to helping seniors and adults with disabilities remain independent at home, providing services like personal care, cooking, cleaning, mobility support, and medication reminders.
They also assist families raising children with chronic health conditions by coordinating care, identifying resources, and easing the burden on caregivers.
Gabe, a client in Waypoint’s Health Care Coordination program, is an avid skier living with Cerebral Palsy. Thanks to the program, Gabe was able to receive a ski pass and compete in sit-ski races—winning gold in both events at Waterville Valley.
“The courses were very technical this year… several of Gabe’s competitors actually fell. Gabe didn’t though—and won the races with the quickest times,” his mom proudly shared.

A Lifeline for New Hampshire
Waypoint’s broad range of services meets people where they are—in homes, at community centers, and on the streets—always with compassion, dignity, and respect. Their programs are built on a commitment to holistic care, evidence-based practices, and a deep belief in human potential.
