Manchester Proud: A Timeline of Impact and Progress

Manchester Proud has steadily transformed Manchester's educational landscape since its inception in 2018. With a bold commitment to improving public education, Manchester Proud’s journey is marked by powerful milestones that illustrate its dedication to students, schools, and the broader community.

  • May 2018: Manchester Proud was officially approved by the Board of School Committee to create a strategic plan for the Manchester School District.
  • September 2018: The organization initiated Manchester’s largest-ever community engagement project, involving over 400 events and more than 10,000 participants to establish a foundation for its mission.
  • February 2020: The adoption of “Our Community’s Plan for Manchester’s Future of Learning” set the district’s new strategic direction, focusing on excellence and equity for all learners.
  • September 2020: Manchester Proud co-founded Manchester Financial Partners, providing critical tech resources, including 500 laptops, to low- and moderate-income (LMI) students in the district.
  • July 2021: The “Compass!” portal was introduced as a centralized hub for student, family, and educator services, making resources more accessible and impactful.
  • September 2021: Manchester Proud launched CelebratED!, a community event in Veterans Park designed to unify Manchester in support of students and schools, featuring multicultural books, entertainment, and family-friendly activities. 
  • November 2022: The organization’s Champions Council established key priorities for 2023: expanding career exploration opportunities and creating a Community Communications Network to reach previously disengaged families.
  • April 2023: Manchester Proud’s Industry Recognized Credential (IRC) Conference launched as part of its Career Connected Learning initiative. Over 15 high school students gained valuable credentials and connected with potential employers through certifications in areas like Serv-Safe, CPR, and resume writing. 
  • January 2024: Manchester Proud launched a Communications Strategic Plan, surveying over 75 community partners to inform an effective community engagement strategy.
  • March 2024: Manchester Proud introduced the Proud Moments social media campaign to spotlight positive achievements in the school district.
  • August 2024: The Community Schools Grant brought together Gossler Park and Beech Street Elementary with community partners to provide crucial resources inside schools—a first for any New Hampshire community.
